About Me
My name is Megan Lucas and I am a PhD student in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago in Dr. Rachel Poretsky's lab.
My research centers around the interactions between microbes and contaminants of emerging concern in the Chicago Area Waterways (CAWs), with a focus on microplastics, pharmaceuticals and personal care products, and antimicrobial resistance genes.
Outside of the lab, you can find me tending to my houseplants, sewing, or trying to learn to figure skate.
